Several issues arise when you are trying to manage children who have very high IQs. Supporting their needs and requirements within the ambience of your home can be challenging. However, most of these children with higher IQs face innumerable problems in their classrooms where they find learning process difficult. Matching classroom performance with their innate intelligence becomes challenging for both parents and teachers. Teachers may need to address the problems of children with higher IQs and take care of educational needs. Educating such children with the best of their abilities is the most suitable solution for parents and teachers.

When the apparent high IQ values do not match classroom performance, a child may face innumerable problems that may include strictures from the teachers, social isolation and possible depression. A very bright child who is very efficient in reading, writing and other classroom work may actually be a problem in the classroom. You can ask any teacher about a child who has very high IQ values. Most of these children possess a rare trait of giftedness that travels beyond being able to read Marvel comics! Young gifted ones are extremely agile and hungry for more information. They can be very curious as well! They always ask hundreds of questions in the classroom with renewed vigor. These children always want to know why certain things happen and what causes those things to happen.

Children with very high IQ have an agile mind that always travels beyond the usual classroom blackboard and books. Their sense of things around makes them absent-minded and forlorn. They learn very quickly at a rapid pace and they can even remember too! Ordinary and mundane things can bore them to the verge of frustration. They can even be very noisy and moody according to the emerging situation. However, not all these characters are really problems for these children. They find themselves isolated or solitary in a boring classroom that they feel is very common and ordinary. Such students may find themselves disharmonious with their studies and that may eventually lead to average classroom performance. Experts call this situation as “non-matching IQ with average classroom performance”. Is there way to bring up these children to the mainstream classroom activities so that they can perform better academically, at least in the theoretical sense? Yes, it is possible for you as well as your children’s teachers.

The first obvious step is to recognize that your child is gifted and has a very high IQ. However, recognizing giftedness in your children is another difficult issue and you may wish to consult an expert to detect it well in advance before your children start attending their classes. Recognizing and nurturing giftedness is very difficult. A gifted child can find his or her abilities diminish in an environment that is not positive enough for their growth. One of the most important steps to consider is to meet the immediate needs and requirements of children with high IQ is the fine tune them to the general ambience of the classroom. Integrating them with the general ambience of the classroom and with other students seems to be the first real step.

Here are some practical suggestions and ideas for designing a bright child friendly classroom environment:

Bright children never like ordinary! They want something extra that keeps them in constant attention and engagement. Teachers and parents may wish to provide extra activities that relate to the daily lesson. These activities help them to try their own experimentation and improvements.

Help these children become the leader of the classroom, so that they can lead others with their superior abilities.

Provide them enough challenging environments. Make sure that the curriculum includes challenging lessons that go beyond the ordinary. Make them participate in the daily classroom activities. Let them think that they are part of the classroom.

Let the bright and intelligent children handle quiz and competition sessions for other students. Ensure that they lead the pack of other students with their wisdom and intelligence.

Include general activities like music, story competition, drama and speech in the curriculum so that these children can get their share of excitement.

Assign homework based on their special abilities and talents. Encourage them to explore their own world with sundry lesson plans and activities.

However, let them know and understand they need to adhere to the general rules of the classroom so that they can be a part of the classroom.

Let them be creative! Supply them tools and amenities required for performing creative activities.

Most of these children are actually very fragile and sensitive. You may need to know and understand their minds before creating any teaching or classroom plans. In the end, you can have a bright child who is active, smart, intelligent and performing according to the expectations of teachers and their classrooms.

Some children possess very high IQ and are intelligent with several naturally endowed gifts. A majority of them spend most of their day inside a formal classroom. However, most of the children with very high and good IQ values usually find set of instructions provided by teachers in the classroom inadequate and insufficient. In essence, it becomes very difficult to match their high IQ with classroom performance. It seems that this is very common between children spread all over the world. Children with high IQs (gifted children) often find themselves at the receiving end by failing to achieve the best that is true to their immense potential.

In fact, there is an immense challenge that lies ahead in front of both the parents as well as academicians to match these children’s higher IQ with their classroom performance. Parents and teachers generally agree on two important things:

Our children must have an access to high quality education so that they can compete with other children in the class.

They should also have an access to valued educational experiences that are unique and challenging and appropriate to their level of intelligence and educational requirements.

Sadly, most of the children find a traditional classroom very challenging because this is the place where they spend most of their time. Parents may not have full control over their children’s learning abilities because of this sole reason.

Experts suggest and provide several reasons why children with higher IQs fail to match their intelligence and ability with their classroom performance. Here are some of them:

Most of the children with higher IQ tends to work on their tasks very quickly and wait for more before others finish theirs.

Their level of understanding about a subject is very high and they tend to ask probing questions that are different with their classmates.

Their interests are also entirely different from those whose IQ scores are average in nature.

Children with very high IQ values tend to differ from their classmates in three distinctive areas like:

The rate at which they learn their lessons.

The mode and depth of their understanding and knowledge.

The number of interests they exhibit.

Note: If you want to develop these children’s classroom performance, you will need to consider all the above-mentioned guidelines.

Gifted students and students with very high IQ values tend to learn very slowly when compared to other students. As their level of skills and knowledge is very high, these children tend to lose their interest in the classroom deliberations. The risk and challenge of educating such children are as difficult, if not more, as training children with developmental delays and learning disabilities. The first difficult task for parents and teachers is to motivate these children so that they will join others to learn their lessons.

Parents and teachers should find out what exactly these children and understand. Several tools allow you to find out what your child knows and the manner in which he or she learns the lessons. Once you identify this issue, you can focus on several teaching ideas that cajole your child to learn at a faster pace.

Recognizing and training children with high IQ values and giftedness is actually very difficult. It also poses an important challenge to you as well as the teachers. Classrooms must detect and identify such children before their skills and abilities start fade away. Such abilities are unique to these children and most parents and educators simply fail to see this ability in them. To some of us giftedness is purely academic when out children start scoring top grades in all subjects. However, real giftedness or high IQ can enable a child to perform some unique and special tasks at a very early age. For example, a child who has very high IQ (at the age of four) can count 200 or read complex sentences with relative ease.

Matching high IQ with classroom performance is a very dicey challenge that needs lot of understanding and experimentation. For example, bringing children with very high IQ out of boredom, commonalties and frustration form the biggest challenge than scoring high grades in the class. Individualized attention, special work schedules, modified curriculum and differing attitude are some of the methods that can help you match very high IQs with good classroom performance. Parents must pay enough attention to their gifted children with very high IQ values to make them empowered with enough skills to perform better in their classroom.

Raising IQ in your children involves a series of activities that focus specially on developing the mental faculties as well as physical abilities. Enhancing IQ is also a dedicated activity that needs plenty of patience, will power and knowledge from parents. Here are some simple techniques and methods that are known to raise IQ levels in children:

Help you children sleep early, and late in the evening, say at 9PM. Children need a minimum of 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep and ensure that they get it without fail. Available research findings suggest that brain function drops drastically with decreased sleep.

Never, ever exert too much pressure on your children! It may counterproductive in the end! Set realistically possible expectations for your children and never be hasty in your efforts.

Are you an expecting mom? If yes, talk to your baby everyday, sing songs and rhythms and say pleasing things throughout the day.

Love your kids and adore them for their good qualities. Shower affection whenever necessary.

Your baby likes your physical touch; touching your baby is reassuring and empathetic

Talk to your baby and help him or her learn basic skills of language.

It is better to have children when you are young, preferably before the age of 30. Young parents will have the required virility and vitality to have strong and intelligent babies.

Young children need intelligent and smart toys to play with and develop a range of useful skills like motor and cognition. Choose your toys wisely and intelligently. Toys are available in a number of forms, patterns, shapes and activities.

Eat plenty of omega-3 rich fish while you are pregnant. Omega-3 fatty acids are known to help in early brain development.

Eat plenty of green and leafy vegetable when you are pregnant. Flaxseed and processed soybean are known to help develop brain functions.

As far as possible, avoid eating too much carbohydrate while you are undergoing pregnancy.

Avoid smoking and consuming alcohol during pregnancy.

Avoid consuming high amounts of caffeinated beverages while you are pregnant. Control your sugar intake during pregnancy

Breastfeeding is possibly the best form of feeding that provides disease fighting components and brain boosting ingredients.

Eat organically grown food to avoid pesticide and insecticide residues of commercial foods.

Reading bedtime stories and singing lullabies are known to boost brain growth. It will also help your child develop an emotional bond with you.

Never, ever provide lead-rich playthings and toys as lead can seriously impair brain growth functions. Ensure that you are buying lead-free and toxic paint-free toys for your children.

Encourage your children to eat plenty of vegetables, proteins and good carbohydrates. Make breakfast a mandatory activity. Give them full and complete meal consisting of eggs, fish, green vegetables, good oils and recommended nutritional supplements.

Control intake of caffeinated and nicotine rich beverages like coffee and tea. Instead, promote nutritional drinks rich in cocoa and natural fruit extracts.

Create conducive and growth oriented ambience in your home. Helpful environment will not only cajole your children learn a number of learning techniques; it will also enhance brain development at a quicker pace.

Daily exercise, aerobics, sports will help your child boost oxygen supply to the blood and brain which eventually result in brain development. Physically active children are agile and intelligent.

Give your kids lessons in piano, guitar and violin; music helps your children develop higher IQs. Mozart and Beethoven can really help increase IQ values.

Make your children join dance classes as they promote muscle and brain activities.

Play creative games with your children. Teach them how to play games that focus on thinking and evaluation side of the brain.

Control TV time as uncontrolled TV can hinder your child’s ability to concentrate and focus on studies.

Repetition helps your children master academic studies. To master any type of technique, your child may need to repeat the process many times over and develop his or her brain power to achieve the best in life.

Pretending type of games and playtime can help your develop intellectually, especially if your child is between ages 1 and 3. It also helps children remember and recall events with least hassles.

It is possible to break out the games so that every set of games that your child plays will have an impact on brain development. Introduce games that deal with math, spelling, grammar, memorization and logic.

Brain development and IQ enhancement are possible with active participation from both the parents and children. But, remember that there is a limit to what you can achieve with your child. Be methodic and apply standard procedures of IQ enhancement to develop your child.

Many of us will do whatever we can to assist our children reach success both in the school and future life. Parents try hard to make their children smart and talented by sending them to best school and by creating highly conducive environment for emotional and physical growth. But, in spite of putting hard effort, most of us are not really satisfied with the progress that our children achieve. In many cases, parents try to measure the degree of their children’s success with the grades or scores achieved in the classroom. Sometimes, parents also try to compare their children’s score with their peers in the class. Experts believe that such comparisons could be wrong and counter-productive in the long run as intelligence or talent are those characters that cannot be created nor can one establish. Now, the big question is can parents raise their children’s intelligence? The expert opinion and feelings are equally split, with some of the experts agreeing to this hypothesis while others totally disagreeing to the idea.

However, recent research findings suggest us that it is possible to raise and improve intelligence in children at least by some degrees, by adapting a series of techniques and tricks. IQ is of intellectual brightness when compared to your peers. A standard IQ test measures your intelligence by applying certain guidelines and principles. Most of the standard IQ tests are used to measure the level or degree of intelligence of a child depending on the age bracket. Under normal circumstances, the average IQ of person is around 100 while anything less than a score of 70 is not satisfactory.

Raising or improving your child’s IQ is a difficult game as it involves manipulating your child’s brain functions with a series of revolutionary techniques and methods. Improving your child’s IQ means streamlining your child’s thought process to suit and match a stimulating growing environment. One of the best methods to enhance your child’s IQ is to create a stimulating environment in your home. It is possible to create a mentally stimulating and encouraging ambience for your child. Here are some basic methods that you can use to set up a stimulating environment in your home:

Use highly expressive facial gestures while talking to your child; this simple process will help create a highly stimulating environment for brain growth.

Reading bed time stories is another idea that helps your child understand text, language and voice signals.

Help your child to mingle with other children so that he or she understands the power of association as well as partnership.

Sign language and mimicking actions will help your child to learn a number of techniques like facial recognition, anticipation, guessing, thinking, analyzing and evaluating.

Just be there with your child whenever there is a real need. Children need support from their parents while they are doing homework or indulging themselves in some extra-curricular activities like painting and drawing.

Active children are happy children! Physical activity that includes sports and games will boost a spurt in blood flow to all sensitive parts of body like brain and nervous system. Fresh blood with plenty of oxygen will help improve their body enhance the power of concentration, attention and thinking. Physical activity in children can promote clear thinking, step up creativity, stimulate the brain power, enhance concentration and provide conditions that are conducive for raising IQ. Extended physical play sessions will also help their body develop fine motor and cognitive skills.

Playing chess and music are two of the well-recognized activities that can help raise IQ to higher levels. Introduce music and rhythm early in your child’s life and watch your child perform better in class as well as other field of activities. Play chess with your child for some time everyday; chess is just like mental gymnastics and this intricate game helps your child develop the immense power of concentration as well as thinking process.

Though some experts believe that IQ tests are not the real indicators to measure the intelligence and talents of children, they do provide some basic insights on how your child can perform in some areas of scholastics and academics. But, parents should be cautious enough not to just rely on improving IQ in their children; successful children are those wonderful kids, who are not only better in their IQ scores, but also strong in their emotional and life skills.

Improving IQ in your children is an intensive activity that needs considerable amount of efforts and personal time from you. Improving IQ also means inching forward very slowly in a calibrated manner, so that you will not be rushing things in a hasty manner. Just remember that intelligence, talent and brilliance are the cherished birth gifts of God and there is a limit to what you can achieve with your children. Good nutrition, sound sleep, ample exercises and an array of brain boosting activities will help your children improve their IQ levels to certain extent.

All parents simply love to have children, who are extremely smart and intelligent with an ability to perform better in their personal and professional life. Till recently, we believed that there is not much that we can do to help our children develop their brains. Most of us were under a wrong impression that intelligence and smartness are inherited and it is almost impossible to enhance our children intelligence after the birth. However, recent monumental research studies on brain-based development in children suggest us that parents can do and perform a lot to help their children develop their brain based activities. The basic brain cells are very rudimentary and basic in a just born baby. However, most of the important brain connections and bridging between neurons occur during the first 10 years of your child’s life.

Smart play is a new and modern term that helps your child develop basic brain based skills and talent that goes far behind the conventional type of intelligence that is restricted mainly to academic performance. Academic performance is an essential part of your child’s life, but there are certain things that cannot be expressed through mundane scholastic abilities. There are the skills and intelligence that cannot be quantified or measured, just as we do in the case of classroom performance. These skills are absolutely essential for your child’s success in life and they are almost invisible to your eyes. These smart play skills can just be felt and perceived.

Children love and adore creative and smart play. You children always like something that provides him or her hands-on type of learning process that makes them smarter, intelligent, inquisitive, probing and logistical. For example, your young baby will be amazed to see a swinging ball slowly swinging above her pr his eyes. The immediate reaction from her is to touch the swinging ball and probe what is there that is making it to swing. Once children touch the moving ball, they slowly begin to swat at the ball and make swing more. While older children are too curious to know why objects sink in water while others do not.

Active and smart play, both social and solitary, can help your child develop extraordinary skills that cannot be taught by regular academic processes. Symbolical thinking and abstract thought processes are two of the most important life skills that you must teach your child. These two are the complex skills that need lot of practice and perfection. These skills can emerge when you child play with different types of smart play things and games; dress-up cloths and props, building blocks, doll houses, building games, construction toys and accessories, farm toys and mechanical sets are some of the things that can help your baby develop a series of skills.

Here are some basic techniques and methods that will help your baby or child develop a series of brain functions:

Look out for different toys, games, accessories and products like puzzles and board games that help your children develop basic skills like curiosity, inquisitiveness, interests and hobbies.

Learning and understanding requires all of the body senses. You can buy different types of dolls, puppets, battery operated vehicles and construction/mechanical toys to stimulate and encourage exploration of language, touch, logistics and cognition. You can use these toys and playthings to create exciting stories and anecdotes. Get into child’s play by playing with your children. Show them how to solve problems that arise, while playing board and puzzle games. Become an engineer to construct bridges, houses and farm villas.

Buy lot of books and manuals that help your child to read, write and work on. You can read stories and rhymes aloud every night just before bedtime. An active conversation between you and your child will help instill the need to stay close together and actively participate in the learning process. Puppets can be a very useful tool to impart communication and language skills.

Be interactive with your children. Ask probing questions about what your children are doing and about their experiences with smart toys. If there are any problems, sit down and explain about solutions and not problems; however, you can ask probing questions that lead to answers from them.

Interactive and playful toys are extremely critical for your child’s success. You will need to buy those smart toys that help them learn basic skills like learning, imagination, creativity and thinking skills. Encourage creativity by using playful and smart toys, especially by using brain and hands. Arts, painting and craft work will help your baby develop fine senses of creativity, artistry and imagination.

Remember that toys are not just for your children! Toys are designed for you as well! Become a child and start playing with your children.

Your children’s attention span, depth of concentration and will power, and level of enthusiasm or inquisitiveness are quite important and critical. The smart toys and playthings that you buy your children must focus on these important skills.

Smart play helps your children relate life experiences to reinforced learning and understanding. In fact, child brain development does not occur in isolation! One area of development will trigger and catalyze quick advancements in others. Smart play can help your child learn emotional, scholastic, logical, cognitive, thinking and social skills that can never be taught in a regular classroom.

All babies are born with their rudimentary brains ready to adapt to the ever changing external stimulus and internal needs of the body. An infant’s brain is a complex organ that is designed to perform a series of highly complicated and difficult functions. A typical baby brain grows at a lightening pace to build a series of connections as the babies start learning and experiencing the essence of life. A baby’s primary brain grows and develops throughout the life though the rate of development is always the fastest during the first 20 years of human life.

In fact, when your child reaches the age of five, he or she would have grown more than 90% of their potential mental growth. Most of the brain building activities take place within the first five or six years. Almost all child learning experts and academicians agree that specific timeframes for the development of baby brain occur when the baby is young. This period is referred to as very critical, prime and time of opportunity for a growing baby. The first five or six years of life is very critical for a child, because this is the time when he or she starts to develop basic skills, senses and a host of other brain related characters.

As a devoted parent, you will do everything to nurture your baby and develop him or her to face the odds and obstacles of life. However, providing nutritious food and proper physical care is one mandatory thing. But, building your baby’s basic brain should be the top most priority to you. As you touch your baby, feed him or her, fondle, cuddle, love and shower your affection, you are helping him or her to develop a series of important brain connections. These important connections will form a solid foundation of how babies think and behave about themselves and in what manner they relate to their family members and the wide world around them.

Brain building is a very complex subject to learn and understand. But, it is quite simple as well, when you learn the fundamentals of the subject. Brain building is a series of processes that focus specially on building brain cell connections, create a formidable network of neurons and help the brain to perform better in cognitive, thinking, sensing, communication and emotional skills. Mind you these skills are absolute necessities for the success of a person. While performing better in a classroom is a need to succeed in professional life, all other skills are mandatory for reaching important goals in personal life. Hours of play, especially active, dynamic, interactive, creative, and educational play, help children develop such basic and fundamental, social and academic skills as concentration, logistics, problem solving, communication, and cooperation.

Building your baby’s brain starts right at the birth. The first immediate thing that you will do as a parent is to cuddle your baby and shower affection and love. Possibly the tender personal touch that you provide will energize your baby to its core. With age, your baby will start developing a series of important skills and characters like:

Development of fine senses is perhaps the most important milestone in your baby’s life. Senses could be anything in its nature; abilities to possess very clear and extremely coordinated eyesight, hearing, seeing, and touch are some of the most critical developmental milestones in your baby’s life. Your baby’s brain needs a strong fillip to master senses of sight, touch, taste, sound and smell. Better brain cell connections help your baby develop in a normal manner.

Development of language and communication skills is as important factors as any other parameters. These skills come little late in the life of your baby. But, you could make tremendous difference to your baby, when you apply subtle brain building techniques.

Developing social and emotional skills in your baby is another important milestone. You can help your baby develop these skills in an early age. You will need to make your child develop social attachments, help learn how to trust others, learn ways to feel safe and secure and have control over emotions.

Basics of Brain-Building

Here are some major factors that you need to consider while building your baby’s brain:

Sense of touch: Deep love and affection are two magic potions that can help your baby build its brain and its processing powers. The power of touch may include loving gesture, smooth touch, gentle massaging, cuddling, holding, hugging. These simple gesture work like miracles to develop your baby’s fine senses as well.

Interaction: Interaction is a very powerful and magnetic equation between the baby and parents. All babies learn quickly through smart playing. In essence, play is always equivalent to learning process. To help develop learning functions, you may like to talk to your baby, sing lullabies, and hug her or him throughout the day. Each step that you take to develop your baby’s brain will go a long way to help succeed in life.

Nutrition: Providing proper nutrition is another important step in building your baby’s brain. An access to high quality nutrition is the first step to make your baby physically and mentally stronger.

Active play: Children learn through active play. They need to play everyday, irrespective of their age and mental status. Smart toys can make your children smart, skilled and intelligent.

Every parent wants smart children who can think and act beyond the usual. While scholastic abilities are considered vital for a child’s classroom success, he or she will perform better when parents become proactive in developing and building their brain very early during the first year of life. Brain building through smart play is a continuous activity that focuses on developing your baby’s brain by empowering it to critically think, seriously probe and evaluate things around them.

You child can easily excel in his or her life by doing and repeating things over and again. The most important advantage of smart play is learning by studying the cause-effect relationship. Exploring by using trial and error method is perhaps the first basic learning experience that you child can learn and master. Active and smart play provides your child an opportunity to hone and master a number of brain skills and techniques.

Before you want to stimulate your child’s brain functions, you will need to know and understand a number of basic activities of brain. Brain is a mysterious organ that can play an important role in your child’s success. Structure ad functioning of brain in an optimal manner is a necessity to lead a life of contentment and satisfaction. Your child’s brain works based on some core principles that are too important for normal brain development. Some of these are:

Your child’s brain is in fact an efficient parallel processor of various nerve cells and neurons. It means that your child’s brain can perform several functions at the same time.

Learning is a life-long process for any human! In fact, learning involves the entire body not just mind alone!

Plain information is actually useless while meaning of these bits of information is actually very important.

Learning in your child always happens because of challenge and a willingness to learn. Learning may never happen if your child is under severe stress.

Brain can store primary information in different forms in different places within the brain. Your child’s brain can easily retrieve these stored information bits by using the complex network of nerve cells.

Emotions in your child’s life can play an important role in streamlining a number of basic functions like attention span, memory and memory recall.

The above-mentioned parameters are necessary, if you want to make your child smart and intelligent. Stimulating your child’s brain is a complex process of training and streamlining combining these parameters and inducing them in your child with utmost care. No parameters are exclusive, but they are inclusive and complimentary. You will need to combine all these parameters to develop your child’s brain functions.

Shower Love and Affection: Ensure that you shower utmost love and affection on your child. Appreciate them from time to time to spruce up their emotional platform. Ensure that you are setting up a caring, concerned and loving environment within your home. Make sure that you are inducing an encouraging environment in your home.

Result and Outcome:

Better and quick memory and recall

Efficient thinking, reasoning and problem solving skills

Better and proper behavior patterns

Better learning ability

Regular Breakfast and Nutritious Food: Breakfast is obviously the most important source of nutrients. Skipping breakfast is dangerous to your child’s health; in fact, it can lead impaired memory and inferior academic performance. Among other effects of bad nutrition are decreased attention span and learning ability, lapsed concentration levels, reduced body energy levels, less enthusiasm and overall poor brain development. Better nutrition can easily provide a number of benefits; oatmeal is perhaps the best breakfast cereal with its amazing nutritional properties.

Result and Outcome:

Increased or enhanced ability to learn and understand

Better comprehension and understanding of issues

Superior cognitive abilities

Superior and sharp spatial memory

Enhanced logical abilities

Enough Sleep: Your children need adequate sleep to get the required amount of rest. Adequate sleep ensures memory enhancement, better performance in subjects like math and arts. Sleepless nights may result in tiredness and lethargy.

Result and Outcome:

Well controlled emotional management

Scholarly academic performance

Superior learning skills

Absence of behavioral problems

Creative Play: Creative playtime assists your children in learning and mastering a number of core academic skills and abilities that are so important for reading, comprehending writing, phonetics and problem solving. You can allow your children to engage themselves in a number of creative games and activities.

Result and Outcome:

Quick development of spatial and logical thinking

Acquisition of important hand to eye coordination

Better creativity and inquisitiveness

Culture and Arts: Music teaching, extra-curricular activities and painting are three of the most desirable activities that can develop your child’s brain. Study of a foreign language is another activity that provides an opportunity to develop cultural relationship.

Result and Outcome:

Brain building in children is a specialized activity that needs lot of preparation and hard work from your side. As a responsible parent, you should allot enough time to educate your children in all aspects of brain development. Available research studies suggest us that we can easily influence our children’s brain power, though the care and support we give, the games we play and activities we do with them, the nutrition we provide them and the sum of positive choices we make for them. Never ever, forget the importance of feeding the right type of brain foods like Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, green leafy vegetables, nuts and seeds and a range of other foods that help in the increased production of phospholipids, fatty acid molecules that lead to the development of brain’s messaging network.

Young children and growing toddlers learn and develop every day and week by keenly observing the things that happen around them. An infant’s brain structure will have more than a million highly charged nerve cells while a child aged 4 years will possess more than 10 million brain cells with their energetic and agile neurons. All these neurons are amazing structures that grow and connect with each other’s in the confines of brain.

In conjunction, all these neurons control all bodily and mental functions like seeing, hearing, moving, learning and performing. Brain is an accomplished organ that can perform millions of minute actions within microseconds. How fast these neurons act and perform depend on a number of factors out of which genes play an important role. An accomplished brain is a sum total of factors like the health of brain and its neurons, arrangement of brain cells, the amount of brain matter and the environment in which the brain develops and grows.

For its small size, brain is a truly complicated tool that is capable of a number of things and issues. A child’s growing brain is always busy in collecting information, sorting it into different categories and processes them according to their importance, priority, and later passing on the information to different body organ systems. Even before you child is born, his or her brain will have all the neurons required to kick-start the brain functions. Most of these neurons help you baby to learn about the external world and those stimuli that affect how he or she develops as an adult.

With more than 100 billions of neurons in the brain cells, the rudimentary baby brain is still primitive in its action; baby brain cells are yet to develop into highly established network of neurons. To ensure proper development of baby brain, your baby will need to develop a solid network of interconnected nerve cells. A brainy baby is a direct result of highly efficient network of nerve cells that can process billions of data bits within seconds.

Strangely, your baby will have more number of nerve synapses than you will! However, most of these tiny structures will die as your baby becomes a toddler and later into an adult. The remaining ones become tough and robust over years and get stronger to direct most body functions. The process of removing these synapses is natural and beneficial; once the remaining synapses become stronger, they can devote more time to create a sturdy and efficient network of nerve cells.

This process of elimination is of paramount importance to your growing baby. Early experiences and early learning are very important for your baby or toddler. When you provide a number of positive and meaningful experiences very early in your child’s formative years, you can expect a baby with a sharp and smart brain. Such babies are in a better position to learn, understand and master a number of skills. If your child gets very few instances of positive stimulations, the brain will have fewer network connections that eventually lead to poor brain functions. Nerve connection used once is always permanent and no one can revoke it. Experiences, whether good or bad, can have a serious effect on the efficiency of child’s brain. Positive experiences can play a vital role in your child’s life.

Some of the positive experiences are:

Loving and affectionate relationship with you and your spouse

Proper feeding with plenty of good nutrition

Emotional nurturing of your baby

Meaningful play

Stimulating brainpower in your children is a delicate mixture of positive experiences, beneficial parenting and meaningful play in the early part of childhood. Brain based learning is fast becoming the most trusted and useful teaching method to make your child smarter and brainier.

Geniuses are almost made, and not born – that what we believe! However, recent research findings provide us invaluable clues on how parents can make their children smart and intelligent. In fact, to make your child fully equipped with necessary brain skills and techniques, you will need to help him or her with loving life, secure parenting base and strong parental bond. To develop your child’s brain and its functions, you will need to ensure that the mental development is “completely brained” by stimulating various areas of brain by using a number of activities and play. It is possible to enhance brainpower by using a technique called “Whole Brain Development”.
